Micheal Messios

Michael Messios attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston MA with a scholarship. He studied music composition, and jazz performance. His return in Cyprus finds him busy in the music industry as a member in various Jazz ensembles. The Petsteppers, Charis Ioannou Trio, Cyprus big band, Tassos Stylianou Trio, Ioannis Vafeas Trio, Nardis Quartet, and Michael Messios Symmetry Band. He worked as a producer and leader in music T.V shows, (OMEGA TV, ALPHA TV, R.I.K.) and he has many collaborations with famous Greek artist, Kostas Makedonas, Demetris Mpasis, Eleni Dimou Pantelis Thalassinos, Antonis Vardis, where he performs and composes. He has participated in major Jazz Festivals like the “Guvy Jazz festival” in Belgium, Krakow Jazz Festival in Poland, “Dusseldorf Jazz Rally” the Kuwait Jazz Festival, Mitrovica Jazz Festival in Serbia, Jazz Festival in Budapest, Athens Technopolis Jazz festival, the famous ‘’B flat Jazz Club’’ in Berlin, ‘Altes Phandhaus’ in Cologne Germany. Jazz Festival” in Crete, “Rhodes Jazz Festival” Syros Jazz Festival and played in prestigious jazz clubs like the VORTEX in London and many more. He also worked as a composer arranger and performer in various theatrical productions ‘’MADAMS FAMILY’’ (Lea Maleni), ZATIERA KE PYKRAMYGDALO, GYNEKEIO MELANI (Mara Konstantinou), CABARET (Andreas Christodoulides Theatro Ena) and arranged and produced in collaboration with Future Academy the well-known musicals ‘’MAMA MIA’’ and ‘’E L F’’. Michael is also a faculty member at ‘’University of Nicosia’’ since 2010 where he teaches Jazz improvisation, Jazz composition and various style Ensembles. Michalis is an endorsed artist of the famous music instrument company ‘‘ASHDOWN AMPS''.
