• Fulfill role of Helicopter Landing Officer. Be accountable for all Helicopter safety equipment.
• During mooring operations act under the Master’s direction.
• Be responsible for the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for the Deck Department including deck areas, accommodation and hull.
• Maintain and update stock lists of Deck Department’s spare parts, tools and consumables.
• Ensure there is a sufficient supply always kept. Prepare and issue necessary requisitions, to comply with necessary demands for the vessel's safety and operation.
• Responsible for maintaining a register of all lifting gear and associated certificates for all areas.
• Ensure that the vessel is always maintained in a seaworthy condition. Ensure that the vessel is always maintained in stable condition, within the limits set by the Class issued stability booklet or recommendations. Report condition and discrepancies to the Master.
• Assume the command of the vessel in event of the incapacity of the Master.
